Naselle track hot out of the starting blocks

MONTESANO — Naselle boys track team enjoyed success at the first meet of the season Thursday. Senior Trenton Stephens won the long jump, high jump, 100 meters and 200 meters. Sophomore Derek Suomela placed second in high jump.

Jayden Ding won the triple jump and pole vault. Brayden Colombo won javelin and placed second in the discus behind junior classmate Tyler Kirkman; Elmer Toftemark placed fourth. Josh Chadwick won both hurdles races.

Coach Scott Smith was enthused with the performances and is eager to build a girls team with new athletes and senior sprinter Echo Cenci recovering from a leg injury.
