SURFSIDE — Delane Williams won the 6th Annual Surfside Homeowners Association Tsunami Run/Walk. Williams ran the 2.7K course in 10:40. He had previously won this race three times. He also received a trophy for his three previous wins.
The Youth winner was Brandon Lee, who covered the course in 14:41. The women’s winner was Celene Edmunds, whose time was 14:26. The Walkers Division was won by Katrina and Ray Clift who walked the course in 26:00.
The race is sponsored by the SHOA Emergency Management Committee. The purpose is to bring tsunami awareness to members and visitors, and acquaint them with evacuation, obtaining high ground, and getting to the assembly area.
