Birding: Treasure this time to savor the visual delights of nature

The past six months have been difficult for many, but not for me. I have been privileged to spend much of my time out on the prairies as well as just sitting in the yard watching wildlife.

A nightly visit by a huge, prickly porcupine, caught on our home security camera ambling around the yard looking for an evening snack, coyotes on the hunt in the ravine, a grizzly bear eating dandelions, elk mothers and their newly born babies resting by the side of the road as well as numerous species of birds that found my bubbling water feature and stopped by for a visit are treasured times and memories.
These and the times spent watching prairie shorebirds and waterfowl have enriched my life beyond measure.
