Glenn, Ilwaco’s leading scorer this year, had 11 points before fouling out with around four minutes to go. By that time, Kylie Gray was already fouled out, and the Lady Fishermen were clinging to a narrow lead.
Down the stretch, the Warriors repeatedly fouled Ilwaco to stop the clock, but the Fishermen preserved the lead from the free throw line. Sunny Kemmer also hit a big shot out of a time-out on a sideline inbounds play to boost the lead to three.
A Warrior three-pointer cut it to one with about 30 seconds left. Sheldon then sank a pair of free throws, and Tiana Ramsey followed shortly afterward with a clinching free throw.

Despite fouling out, Glenn played close to her normal minutes until the fourth quarter. Sheldon hit some threes off her drive-and-kick plays. Ilwaco led most of the way, but could not shake Chief Leschi, which was hitting open shots off its own drive-and-kick game.
Chief Leschi, third in the league standings, has been more competitive against Ilwaco than any other league opponent this year. They were in a tight game well into the fourth quarter in an 11-point loss at Ilwaco in early December.
“We expected a good game,” Glenn said. “It’s good for us. It lets us work on situational stuff. And we knew playing [at] Chief Leschi was going to be a hard environment.”
Glenn credited Ramsey for giving Ilwaco a big boost.
“She played good defense, and did what [coach] Ned [Bittner] said following the game plan…against plays they were running,” Glenn said. “She also hit a couple of threes, and she was strong with the ball when they were fouling at the end.”
Ilwaco will host South Bend Friday, Jan. 17 at 7:00 p.m. and visits Lacey to take on Chief Leschi on Jan. 21 at 5:45 p.m.
