TOUTLE — Playing Toutle Lake for the second time in three days, the Comets again fell short, losing 59-40 to the Ducks, one of the top 2B teams in the state, on Monday, Dec. 23.

The Ducks took control by outscoring Naselle 19-6 in the first quarter. Struggling to create good shots against a stingy defense, the Comets found themselves settling for long-shot three-point attempts.

Ethan Lindstrom looked to salvage the Naselle offense with one-on-one attacks and had some success. Naselle nevertheless trailed 25-11, but Kolby Glenn’s floater near the buzzer capped a 7-0 run to cut it to 25-18 at halftime.

Toutle returned to dominance in the third quarter. Broc Keeton dribbled through traffic and pulled up for three at the quarter buzzer for a 43-25 lead, and Toutle cruised to the win.
