ILWACO — Toledo shut out Ilwaco 3-0 Wednesday, Sept. 25.

The Indians (5-1) controlled the ball most of the first half but led only 1-0 at halftime after botching several break-away chances against the Fishermen (2-4).

Goalie Faith Richardson stopped a two-on-zero break midway through the half. Inside six minutes, she dove to her right and stopped an open short-range shot from the left side.

But Yulisa Cabrera slashed through the defense to score just 30 seconds into the second half for a 2-0 lead.

From there, Toledo cruised. A corner kick set up an easy shot right in front of the goal with 12 minutes left for their final goal.

Ilwaco 4, Toutle Lake 0

TOUTLE — Elle Personius scored two goals, Sarah Frank had her first career goal, and Justyce Patana scored as Ilwaco hammered Toutle Lake 4-0 Monday, Sept. 23.

Patana scored the game’s first goal. Personius threw the ball in behind the defense to an open Patana, who took it to the goal.

Sunny Kemmer assisted on a Personius goal for a 2-0 first-half lead.

Personius scored again in the second half.

Later, Patana got the ball to Frank at the top of the penalty box, where she scored the final goal.

Ilwaco 4, Winlock 1

WINLOCK — Sarah Frank scored two goals as Ilwaco beat Winlock 4-1 Saturday, Sept. 28 to improve to 3-4 on the season.

The game was tied at one at halftime, with Elle Personius providing the Ilwaco goal. Justyce Patana had a goal and Frank had two in the second half.

Frank, a freshman, has become another weapon in Ilwaco’s arsenal with three goals in the last three games.

“She’s finding her way at a new position, midfield, which I don’t think she’d played before this year, kind of figured out how it plays,” coach Andrew Goodwin said.

“She’s making more good plays with the forwards and getting the ball more.”

Winlock fell to 1-3-2. Ilwaco will play them again at home Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m., then visits Onalaska Oct. 7 at 6 p.m.
