Cate, left, and Starla Gable will perform folk songs in Oysterville Church this Sunday.

OYSTERVILLE — “This is our ninth year of sharing music at vespers,” Starla Gable said.

Starla and her sister, Cate Gable, will bring their magical (some say genetic) harmonies to the Oysterville Church service on Sunday, Aug. 11 at 3 p.m.

“We started singing as small kids and were even part of our family’s barbershop quartet,” Starla said.

“I sang melody and Cate sang tenor while our mom sang baritone and dad sang bass an octave high so his range would blend with our female voices. Come join us for folk tunes and our take on a few songs older than we are!”

Pastor Anna Haugen of the Chinook Lutheran Church will lead the vesper service.

Sandy Nielson will play the pump organ as accompaniment to the congregational singing, and Sydney Stevens will provide the traditional Oysterville Moment — “perhaps a story about Oysterville of long ago,” she said.
