TOKELAND — Come trek across Tokeland at the eighth annual Tokeland Trek on Sunday, July 7.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. at the Tokeland Hotel.
Trekkers have exclusive access to Dave’s Tokeland Trail, a private trail covering 23 acres.
This guided tour treks through a wondrous transition from the Tokeland rain forest to the seashore and dunes.
This leg of the Trek is low key and educational thus making it a fun family outing.
Learn about the area’s flora and fauna from Dave Hawthorne, local character, longtime resident and hiking enthusiast.
On the second trail experience, trekkers are invited to meander through the Willapa Bay grasslands, marvel at the wildflowers and take in the beauty of the bay.
The Shoalwater Bay Tribe maintains the 12-foot-wide mowed trail from the Tokeland Hotel for about 3/4 of a mile alongside the bay. It’s a great side-by-side walk that’s child and pet friendly.
