Lily Harman scored on a double-steal with Courtney Paul during Naselle’s two-run first inning. Haataia and Kylee Tarabochia each tripled during a two-run second that made it 4-0. Hailey Weston drove in two more in the third with a line-drive through the left side, and eventually came around for a 7-1 lead.
Ilwaco tied it up in the fourth. Jaymie Patana followed a leadoff walk to Arianna Bell with a line drive single, only Ilwaco’s second hit of the game off Brynn Tarabochia. Kaytlenn Whelden followed with an infield single, and Gracie Barnett was hit by a pitch to force in a run, making it 7-2, still with nobody out.
Tarabochia regained her control. She got Asu Herrera-Sanchez to tap back to the mound for a force-out at the plate. Jaymi Kemmer followed with an identical grounder, but this time Tarabochia’s throw home took Haataia slightly off home plate, allowing Whelden to score. With two outs, Hannah Hines drove in Brundage for the tying run. Bell then grounded into a fielder’s choice to end the inning.
