SEASIDE — The Seagulls broke the game open with a six-run sixth inning and handed Ilwaco a 13-7 loss in the team’s softball season opener Monday, March 18.

Gracie Barnett started on the mound for the Fishermen, striking out seven and allowing one hit in four innings. Kaysha Cadinha pitched the final two innings, allowing two hits. The two combined to walk thirteen and hit a batter.

Kaytlenn Whelden tripled and doubled for Ilwaco, which trailed just 5-4 after four innings. Emma Brundage went 2 for 2.
