ILWACO — The Ilwaco Fishermen boys improved to 6-1, holding Raymond (2-5) to its lowest scoring total of the season in a 73-26 victory Monday, Dec. 17.

The Fishermen’s defense was stifling from the beginning, while control of offensive rebounding boosted a slow-starting offense. Ilwaco led 14-3 after a quarter.

Ilwaco’s offense broke through with a 27-point second quarter. Tenyson Ramsey buried his second three-pointer, then scored on a slick pass from Alex Kaino to make it 22-5. Joe Nisbett blocked a shot and scored the other way to cap a 14-0 run. Nisbett screened a John Glenn three-pointer that finished off a dominant first half with a 41-11 lead.

The Fishermen extended the lead to 63-18 after three quarters and finished off the blowout win.
