Storms generating big surf

- Autumn storms over the Pacific Ocean generated energetic waves this past weekend, including these at Waikiki Beach in Cape Disappointment State Park. More storms are expected this week, with a series of atmospheric rivers delivering rain and wind to the south Washington seashore. A major storm is possible over the weekend, University of Washington meteorologist Cliff Mass wrote in his blog Oct. 29. “OMG. This is serious,” Mass said of the potential wind/rain combo coming ashore Saturday into Sunday. Coastal residents should keep apprised of the forecast as it develops. It's possible the storm will go another direction or fail to develop. Between five and 10 inches of rain are predicted for Pacific County over about the next week.
