PENINSULA — The parade of the “bathing beauties” continues here at the north end of the Peninsula.

Our feathered friends are continuing to line up for a splash or two in the birdbath as well as for drinks. The rufous and the Anna’s hummingbirds have been here in droves. There have been so many that they are finishing off the nectar in the hummingbird feeder in just a few hours, and they are all buzzing the birds that politely line up for their turn in the bath because they, too want a turn, all 15 of them.
All of this activity causes the bird bath to empty quickly so the main activity these days is keeping our visitors satisfied by providing their favorite amenities several times a day.
The “Rest of Best of the Long Beach Peninsula” are a delight. I hope they come to your backyard.
