ILWACO — May Delight Luff Strahan, 89 passed away on August 24, 2016, in Ilwaco, Washington. She was born May 9, 1927 White Court, Alberta, Canada. A “Mom” to her children and many more, she was the fourth child, and only daughter of Lawrence and Amelia Livingston.
May married Arnold C. Luff in 1944 in Longview, Washington, where they built a home and lived until Arnold passed in 1984.
May was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers. Roger, Fred and Milton; her loving husband and friend, Arnold; and her second husband, Virgil Strahan.
Survivors include a daughter, Connie Luff; sons, Jim (and Debbie) Luff and Rick (and Shelly) Luff and by her grandchildren, Tracey DeSpain, Todd Luff, Tia DeSpain, Heather (Luff) Case, Terra Luff, Tony Luff, Gina (Luff) Bruns and Jarett Snow. Great grandchildren, Amanda (Luff) Clem, Trenton Kessler, Brad Luff, Tierra DeSpain, Avery DeSpain-Roper, Hailey Luff, Jackson Bruns and Mia Bruns; her great-great-grandchildren Raven and River Coleman; plus too many nieces and nephews to name, and many cousins in Canada.
“Mom” loved sewing, knitting, rock hounding and making jewelry. Most of all she loved watching all of her grandchildren grow. She was always kind and loving to everyone she knew and will be greatly missed and fondly remembered with love.
A memorial service will be held on Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. at Riverside Park, 1820 West Valley Hwy., in Kelso, Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harbor Home Health and Hospice in Long Beach, Washington.
