OCEAN PARK — “Wake Up America” is the theme for the 2016 National Day of Prayer. Those with an interest are welcome to enjoy breakfast and an assembly to prayer for areas of interest in our community and in our world.
The NDOP prayer breakfast will be Thursday, May 5, at 7 a.m. at Ocean Park Community Church, 268th and Vernon Avenue, in Ocean Park. R.S.V.P. is required to accommodate all attendees.
“When there is so much bad news we have great hope for the days to come and hold on to the good news that brings people encouragement, as we exercise our faith in prayer,” the church said in a press release..
Nationally, Dr. Tony Evans is the honorary chair for 2016, and the gathering will hear a message from him, along with inspirational songs and proclamations. Locally, artist Eric Wiegardt, AWS 2012 Gold Medal of Honor Award recipient, Dolphin Fellow, and National Watercolor Society member, will address the group. This is a season for intercession and prayer action on behalf of businesses, churches, schools, families, governing offices, media, military service personnel and veterans.
