- Linda High enjoyed unseasonably warm weather in Long Beach on April 7.
PENINSULA — A number of warm-temperature records fell around Western Washington last Thursday, April 7.
In Long Beach, the official reading was 84 degrees, and the temperature reached 82 in Ocean Park. Inland, it was even hotter: 87 in Naselle and 90 near Grays River.
Writing in his blog Thursday, University of Washington meteorologist Cliff Mass said, “Once in a while, I see something that is truly amazing. It’s happened today. … It is going to burn today.”
Spring break tourists sought relief on local beaches, in some cases engaging in dangerous behavior in the cold and treacherous North Pacific.
