Master Gardeners Workshops begin Feb. 13 in Ilwaco

- Pacific County Master Gardeners will be selling wood planter boxes at trellises in Ilwaco on Feb. 13.
ILWACO — On Saturday, Feb. 13, Pacific County Master Gardeners is sponsoring their first 2016 workshop with their ever-popular “Pruning Basics.”

This begins their fourth year of sponsoring gardening workshops in conjunction with the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum in Ilwaco. The intent of this joint venture is to renovate and maintain a Pacific County Master Gardener demonstration garden at the museum. The museum is located on 115 SE Lake Street and the Discovery Garden is located behind their parking lot.
At the pruning workshop, Master Gardener volunteers will demonstrate proper pruning techniques for trees and shrubs. The lecture begins at 10 a.m. After the workshop, you can practice your new pruning skills on the trees and shrubs in the Museum Discovery Garden. Bring your favorite pruning tools and dress for the weather.
Plant questions or problems? Come ask a Master Gardener. Stop by the museum anytime between 10 a.m. through 1 p.m. with your plant questions. If possible, bring samples of your plant problem. The workshop and plant clinic are free and open to the public.

They will also be selling wooden plant containers as well as wooden trellises of various shapes and sizes. Credit cards accepted.
