Lectio Divina (sacred reading) is a path by which we encounter God. This approach to scripture involves reading, meditation and prayer treating scripture as The Living Word, not simply as text to be studied. It will take some time to call this practice your friend but, as with any good friend, it is worth the wait and patience it takes to become familiar with the practice. Lectio Divina is a hallmark of the religious life and has proven helpful to people from many different faith expressions and personal journeys for almost 1500 years. Come and learn about this timeless expression of communication with God.

A study group will meet beginning Tuesday, the Aug. 11 at the Peninsula Church Center, 5000 “N” Place in Seaview at 10 a.m. The program will be led by Br. Philip-Bernard Schaeffer, OSB (Anglican). Br. Philip-Bernard has conducted classes at St. Peter Episcopal Church for several years. If you are searching for a deeper relationship with our Creator, please consider joining us. Additional information may be obtained from The Rev. Richard Loop, Vicar, St. Peter Episcopal Church at 503-325-6052.
