PORTLAND — James Dean “Jim” Carlton, 64, died unexpectedly on Dec. 26, 2014, in Portland. He was born on Oct. 6, 1950, in Salem, where he grew up. He worked as custodian for the Salem School District. He and his wife, Edith, moved to the Peninsula in 1999. Arrangements are pending.
