Letter: Golf tourney raises $2,200 to feed hungry kids

LONG BEACH On behalf of the Food-4-Kids Backpack Program, thank you goes to Dale Tracy and his family and Bonny Trotter for organizing another successful golf tournament. Thank you to the Peninsula Golf Course for providing assistance and a beautiful day of golf.
At last count (final numbers are not in yet) the tournament raised approximately $2,200 to help feed Long Beach Elementary children this coming year.
The first place team consisted of: Dale Tracy, Craig Hawkinson Jr., Chris Anderson, Mike Starr and Kaitlyn Michaelson. The longest drive went to Allison Thomason (womens) and Rick Larson (mens). Closest pin winner was Kaitlyn Michaelson (womens) and Dale Tracy (mens).
This event could not have happened without the generous sponsors: Everett and Ada Clayton, Ford Electric, Pacific Salmon Charters, Oceanside Animal Clinic, Box K Auto, Maiko Minami, Port of Ilwaco, Pioneer Market and Deli, Active Enterprises Inc., Jessies Ilwaco Fish Company, Evergreen Septic, Englund Marine, Hills Auto Body and Towing, Hill and Son Excavating, Don Nisbetts Crewhouse Gallery and Chinook Marine Company.

The tournament was followed by the very best dinner cooked by Elks members Carol Rahm and Donna Southerland. The dinner was held at the Elks lodge where the winners were announced and the raffle held. The helper list included: Anne Tracy, Kathy and Mike Ryba, Kathy Bueman, Kandi Eros, Joannie Klein, Shirley Potter, Bonny Trotter and Sue Margullis.
