    ILWACO  Janice A. Schestedt, 88, of Klipsan Beach, died March 17, 2013, in Ilwaco. At her request, no services are planned. Arrangements are by Penttilas Chapel by The Sea in Long Beach.

Delbert E. Deb Slack

    PORTLAND  Delbert E. Deb Slack, 82, died Feb. 3, 2013, in Portland with the family he loved so much by his side. He was born July 28, 1930, in Potter, Neb. Deb married Marilyn Davies in May 1948. They raised their family while he worked in the lumber industry. She died in 1982. Deb married Sally Mann, a long-time resident of Hood River, Ore., on May 28, 1983. When they retired in 2001, they moved to Ocean Park. Survivors include his wife; three children, Steve Slack, Todd Slack and Linda Petersen; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren (with one more on the way). A local memorial service will be held at a later date.

Lisa Marie Velasco (Gurule)

    OCEAN PARK Lisa Marie Velasco (Gurule), 45, died March 15, 2013. She was born Oct. 14, 1967. She is survived by a son, Michael Gurule of Oroville; two daughters, Ana Cutting and Jackie Scott of the Peninsula; plus her grandchildren, Amber and Maggie Scott; Derrick, Tyler and Hunter Cutting; and Levi, Cody and Kirsten Gurule. A full obituary will be published next week.
