Clamming
PENINSULA A razor clam dig is scheduled on the Long Beach Peninsula from the Columbia River north jetty to Leadbetter Point from Saturday, Dec. 29 through Monday, Dec. 31, pending marine toxin tests, with digging allowed between noon and midnight. The best time to start is an hour or two before low tide and it is recommended you take a lantern for evening digs. Harvesters are allowed to take no more than 15 razor clams and must keep the first 15 they dig, regardless of size or condition. Each diggers clams must be kept in a separate container. Licenses are available at numerous local businesses.

OCEAN PARK The Community Table free lunch program needs your help. The all volunteer hot lunch program prepares about 100 meals each week at a cost of $2 per meal, with 100 percent of your tax deductible donation going to provide a hot meal for your neighbors in Ocean Park and nearby. Hazard sirens testing
SOUTH BEND The Pacific County Emergency Management Agency (PCEMA) will run the test of the All Hazard Alert Broadcast (AHAB) sirens on Monday, Jan. 7, at noon. The AHAB sirens will sound the Westminster chimes for 10 seconds followed by a 15-second verbal message stating This is a test of the Emergency Management Agency Tsunami Warning System. This is only a test. The PCEMA has requested assistance from Pacific County Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services volunteers in tracking the success of the test. Living well workshop
OCEAN PARK Ocean Beach Hospital in collaboration with the Olympic Area Agency on Aging (O3A) has scheduled a free workshop open to the public entitled, Living Well With Chronic Conditions. This workshop will be held on Thursdays, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., for six consecutive weeks. The classes will be held on Jan. 10, Jan. 17, Jan. 24, Jan. 31, Feb. 7 and Feb. 14 at the Family Worship Center at 264th and Ridgeway in Ocean Park. Two specifically trained leaders will facilitate the workshop. This program is designed to help anyone who suffers from a chronic condition, including diabetes, asthma, heart disease, chronic pain, arthritis and hypertension just to name a few; to lessen their stress and frustration, manage symptoms and deal with fatigue. The goal of the program is to help these individuals live a healthy life even with chronic conditions by managing symptoms. Those who are caring for someone with a chronic condition are also encouraged to attend. Each participant will have access to a Living Well With Chronic Conditions book. The meeting site is accessible to persons with disabilities. Crab feed
LONG BEACH Ilwaco Sports Boosters will host their annual fundraising crab feed Saturday, Jan. 19 from noon to 8 p.m. at the Long Beach Elks Lodge, 110 Pacific Avenue North in Long Beach. The one-crab dinner is $15 and includes French bread and coleslaw. The two-crab dinner is $25. Hot dogs are also available for $2. All money raised goes to help the sports programs at Ilwaco High School.
Old Time Loggers Reunion
NASELLE Appelo Archives Center at 1056 State Route 4 in Naselle, is pleased to sponsor the third annual Old Time Loggers Reunion on Saturday, Jan. 26 from noon to 4 p.m. This event is intended to bring together loggers of all ages and their families, as well as community members who want to honor the logging industrys history in the Lower Columbia. Everyone who was, or still is, involved in the timber industry is encouraged to come. While there is no cost to attend, they always appreciate a donation to the center.
