Established in 1998, Visiting Angels is a nationwide network of homecare agencies around the country that specializes in non-medical care for seniors, adults with disabilities, or patients recovering from illness or an accident.
Robert and Amy Loudenback, who operated the Vancouver Visiting Angels office for six years, are the administrators at the Ilwaco branch office. Thanks to the recent expansion, the Vancouver-based franchise now serves Pacific, Wahkiakum, Cowlitz and Clark counties.
With the goal of providing affordable and professional care, Visiting Angels caregivers assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, walking, medication re- minders, errands, shopping, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and provide companionship. Service options include hourly care, respite care and live-in care.

This is an area where there is a need the clientele is here and the services are not, Amy says of their newly added service area. I think with our track record in Clark County, we have created a great rapport with the hospital and community.
The company is bonded, licensed and insured, and each Visiting Angel caregiver is submitted to comprehensive background screenings and drug testing prior to hire.
We hire the best caregivers we can find, we keep them and we pay them well, adds Amy, who noted that the company is still hiring staff for this area.
Visiting Angels services are billed private pay. The caregiver selection process consists of a needs assessment, an interview with the potential client and his or her family members, and creating a personal care plan suited to the clients needs.
Complimentary, no obligation introductory home visits are available. For more information, stop by the local Visiting Angels office at 227 Howerton Way at the Port of Ilwaco, or call 360-553-4228. Their business hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
