VANCOUVER Eva and Chuck passed away in Vancouver. Chuck was the vicar at St. Peters, Ilwaco and St. Johns in South Bend from 1960 to 1969.

They relocated to Camas and later to Bellingham, where they lived until they moved back to the Vancouver area to be closer to their children.

Eva generously gave her time and attention to others as a teacher and volunteer. She was a leader in her community as an advocate for the rights of women and children, especially the developmentally disabled.

Before going to seminary Chuck was a Naval officer during the Korean War. He served as an Episcopal Priest in the Diocese of Olympia and as an interim minister. He also volunteered in organizations that advocated for the rights of children.

They will be loved and remembered fondly for the impact they had on so many, particularly their family. They are survived by their children, John (Pam), Margaret Sundseth (Mark), James (Diane) and Michael Hunter-Berstein (Gabriel); seven grandchildren, Sarah and Nathan Hunter, Kelli Dizmang (Scott), Nicola Alderson, Travis Sundseth, Ethan and Victor Hunter-Bernstein and one great-grandchild, Charles Dizmang.

A memorial service for both will be held on Dec. 6 at St. Annes Episcopal Church in Washougal at 1 p.m. A committal service and interment of ashes will be held at St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Bellingham, on Dec. 29 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to The Episcopal Relief and Development Fund, NARAL or the Whatcom County YWCA.
