BATTLE GROUND Ilwacos Corbin and Evan Sutherland qualified for the state cross country meet by placing 12th and 15th, respectively, at the District IV meet at Battle Grounds Lewisville Park on Oct. 29. Corbin ran the 5K course in 17:39 while Evan Sutherland finished with a time of 17:48. The top 20 individuals and leading four teams advanced to state.

Junior Cindy Pacheco was the top finisher for the Lady Fishermen at 21st in 22:18. Pacheco missed going to state by a mere .87 seconds, just a couple of yards behind Laura Patrick of Castle Rock.
