The fact about me that people find most surprising is
Usually theres surprise when people find out Im a twin. I have a twin brother; his name is Garth.
Whats your worst habit?
Twirling my hair.
Aside from a property, whats the most expensive thing youve bought?
Personally, it would be a purse. Otherwise, stock I mean that blows everything out of the water.
Whats your favorite smell?
Lavender.
When was your proudest moment?
Bringing my sons home from the hospital.
What is your favorite movie of all time?
I think the movie Its Complicated. Its just so darn funny. Its an age group with kids off at college and such, but the humor is just something you havent seen out there before. Its just a funny look at life in that situation.
You just won the lottery what are the first three things youll do with the money?
Welcome it! Count it! And share it with family and causes we believe in the school district, the hospital, the Humane Society.
What is your earliest memory?
Summer on the farm with my siblings, in Buckley. Playing in the barn, and I remember the baby lambs in spring and such.
If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would they be?
Alton Brown. I think hes a great, quirky chef. I love his programs and personality.
What is your favorite activity?
Roaming the beach with the family. You know, sunny mornings, maple bars from the bakery, and just combing the beach.
If You are what you eat rang true, what would you really be?
A stick of butter, oh yeah. Its in everything; makes everything better.
Garnette Sutherland attended Pacific Lutheran University and worked as an intensive care nurse for 12 years before moving to the Peninsula in 1995 with her husband, Tom. The Sutherlands and Jeff and Casey Harrell co-own Peninsula Pharmacies, where Garnette is a gift buyer. She is currently serving her second term as a commissioner on the Ocean Beach Hospital Board, and is also a supporter of Boy Scouts and local sports teams. A resident of Seaview, she enjoys jogging in the dunes and tending to her Garden of Second Chances. The couple have three boys 18-year-old Owen, 17-year-old Corbin and 14-year-old Evan and a Pug, Nettie Marie.
