Pacific County Sheriffs Office

    RAYMOND The Pacific County Sheriffs Office said last week that it is investigating the death of a 38-year-old male, Raymond resident Jason T. Hodgson. Hodgsons body was located by a local resident in the Ward Creek area approximately four miles north of Raymond at 12:06 p.m. Friday, July 22. The cause of death is not suspicious.

    July 18 At 4:30 p.m., a Mongoose Magna bicycle was stolen from the skate park where it was left unsecured.

    At 9:12 p.m., two people were reported to be sitting in bushes next to a home. An officer made contact with them and they said they were just talking. They were advised to stay off private property.

    Dispatch was called about six juveniles playing hide-and-seek and flashlight tag on Oregon Street at 11:36 p.m. An officer made contact with the group who said they stopped playing after a man had yelled at them for going onto his property.

    July 19  At 9:30 p.m., an assault that occurred in an RV park in Ilwaco on July 14 was reported. The incident involved a male allegedly attempting to touch a female against her will. When the female started screaming and running she fell, receiving a significant contusion on her calf. The case is under investigation.

    July 20  At 9:13 p.m., a LBPD officer received a call about a male down on the beach. After assisting the disoriented individual, the officer finally drove him to a motel where he had been staying with friends, and he called a cab company to return him to his home in Oregon.

    At 10:42 p.m., after receiving a call of a deer locked into a fenced area in Ilwaco, officers opened the fence and the animal ran for its deer life.

    July 22  At 8:18 p.m., an officer responded to a report of a found child in a Long Beach business with no parent or guardian in the business. After calling several people, it was apparent that there was miscommunication between family members and the child was reunited with his father.

    At 9:10 p.m., Denise M. Bartol, age 43, from Ocean Park, was cited for hit-and-run after numerous witnesses saw her vehicle hit another car at Bolstad and Boulevard, gave chase, caught up with her and took away her keys.

    July 23 At 6:10 p.m., a footlocker and duffle bag full of clothes were reported stolen from a truck parked at the Black Lake boat ramp.

    July 24  At 8:17 p.m., Alec N. Benz, age 20, from Vancouver, was cited for marijuana possession less/equal to 40 grams.
