I want to thank everyone who participated in the two fundraising events to help cover my medical expenses incurred from a broken neck and the subsequent surgery.
First, Ocean Park Lutheran Churchs (OPLC) night at the Imperial Schooner was a great success. Thanks to the celebrity servers, Pastor Adrienne Strehlow and Robert Lindberg, and volunteer cook Karl Johnson. Thank you, Ana Karen Perez Guzman for keeping everyone in line. The biggest thank you to all the great people from OPLC who had dinner with us that night.
Second, thank you to the quilters at OPLC for putting together a fabulous spaghetti dinner at the church. Lots of people came out and we had a good time. Thanks to Bev Thompson, who planned the event, and Curt and Kathleen Davis, the chef and chief server. There were so many volunteers, I cant begin to name them all. And a huge thank you for everyone who enjoyed spaghetti and meatballs with me!
Im slowly on the mend and appreciate everyones good wishes and prayers.

The board of the Friends of Ilwaco-Ocean Park libraries would like to thank everyone who helped make the Memorial Day book sale a success. Thanks to the following:
The Ilwaco High School National Honor Society, Jason Huntley and advisor Amy Huntley for moving the hundreds of boxes of books from the storage facility to the library and the unsold ones back after the sale.
Our booksellers: Nancy Goodel, Adelle Beechy, Sharon Van Huitt, Cherry Harding, Marion Oman, Claudia Gloria Geisendorfer, Dixie Wood, Kris Parker and friend, Debbie Halliburton, Leah Gonder, Charlotte Paliani, Wayne Downing, Carol Nordquist, Sandy Nielsen, Marion Oman and Karen Clarke.
We had a great group to help put up and take down the tents: Chris Hanson, Dick Lemke, Pat Wall, Dixie Wood, Lyn Lary, Claudia Justice, Jim, Ethan and Eliza Bannister, Marshal Tate, Cookie and Louie Preston, Fred Anderson, Chris Jacobsen, and master builder Marion Oman,
The group that places the books of tables and makes some order out of chaos was efficient as usual. Thanks to Claudia Justice, Reta Lidstrom, Marion Oman, Bette Arne, Michelle Chabot, Robin Libby, Cherry Harding, Marshal Tate and anyone we have forgotten.
Thanks to Box K Auto, Bank of the Pacific, and Taft Plumbing for putting us on their reader boards; to all the businesses that put up our signs each and every sale; Chris Jacobson for putting up the large banner at the Seaview fire station and for driving the truck; and Reta Lindstrom, who takes care of all the Friends financial endeavors during the entire year.
A special thank you to Brady and Tiffany Turner, Kaye Buesing, and Okiess Thriftway for donating space for book storage and sorting. With the donation of space it saved considerably on our costs and provides more dollars for the two libraries.
Thanks to the great people who donate books during the year and all those who buy books at each sale. Without each of you the sale would not continue to be the success that it is. With the proceeds the Friends are able to provide childrens programs, magazine and newspaper subscriptions and other items requested by our two libraries.
