What do you like to do in your free time?
Oh, I love being outdoors, I love working in my yard.
What is something youre not very good at but love to do?
Theres many things, I think. But I would like to be able to paint watercolors.
What is your earliest memory?
I suppose when I was young and my grandparents would come to visit, and I enjoyed them coming out to visit. They lived in Minneapolis and we lived about 60 miles from Minneapolis.
If you could edit your past, what would you change?
Well, if it was possible, I wouldve loved to go on [in school]. I only went through school through eighth grade. I didnt get a chance to go to high school because we lived too far from town and there was no bus service. This was in Minnesota In 1973, I took my GED and I passed it. I wouldve went on so I could have gotten a nursing degree, but the college I wanted to go to Northgate was filled up.
What was the worst date you ever went on?
When I was young and I was helping at my neighbors, a boy that I knew of his family, he came over and asked me to go out with him, and I thought OK since I knew them. And that was a disaster! He was too eager beaver. I was too young, I was 17, and I wasnt ready for life like that even though he came from a good family and all. I thought he would be OK to go out with!
When is the last time you laughed really hard, and why?
Ive had so many funny incidents happen in my life I was having a cup of soup. My stepson was cooking soup, and I was sitting in an armchair. He had a little dog, a doxie, that sat right next to me in the recliner, and I thought the soup was too hot to eat and so I held onto the bowl. And he just sat there. And as I took a spoonful of soup to my mouth I felt the hair of the dog, he wanted soup too!
Whats your most favorite piece of clothing?
I think denims, today.
If you could time travel, would you go to the past or the future and why?
Well, the future is so unknown. Youd have to think of the past, like being able to send man to the moon.
Which living person do you most admire and why?
A pastor that I have. She just seems like she is kind to everybody, and caring.
Whats your favorite holiday?
Lets see, I suppose Fourth of July. Because I guess we always knew about Fourth of July celebrations from kid on, and I think having the nice Fourth of July celebrations we have out here. And due to television, we can see the ones in Seattle and those are good.
You just won the lottery. What is the first thing youll do with the money?
I guess I would donate some to my church, and take my favorite friends and neighbors out to a meal, to a nice restaurant. I was just taken out recently when my niece came to visit me; I thought it would sure be nice to do that for my friends.
What would you choose for your last meal?
A seafood dinner.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
If you have a loving family and you have what your really need to manage in this life, I dont mean wealth, but enough to get along and enjoy life, and being a good neighbor.
