-
During a rousing game of Car Lot — a kind of freeze tag that involves names of cars — camp counselor Josh Jensen leaps to avoid being tagged. The game was part of the 4-H camp that took place at Cape Disappointment State Park late last week.

Tucked away in the northern-most campsites of Cape Disappointment State Park late last week were a group of 30 campers. But this wasnt your ordinary get-together or family reunion. The kids were taking part in the eighth annual two-day camp sponsored by the Oregon State University Extension Office and the Clatsop 4-H.
The students arrived early Thursday evening and returned home on Saturday morning. And while it is a concentrated amount of time, they sure squeeze a lot in. Along with activities that saw the making kaleidoscopes and tie-dye shirts, they also did some leather working and went on nature hikes with rangers, and of course had fun around the campfire. Last night we did gags with our counselors to show the kids that it is okay to step out of your box and be a little silly, said Sandra Carlson, Clatsop 4-H coordinator.
