Letter: Money changes political affliliation in the Me Party

I was talking with a friend this evening on political topics when it flashed through my mind what the difference was between Democrats and Republicans. I will have to illustrate with a story.
Some time ago I was speaking with two friends of mine who are of a political affiliation differing from my own. I will call these friends Nan and Brett. During our conversation, I asked Nan about her daughters names, which to me sounded straight out of the hippie lexicon. Nan readily admitted that in her younger years she was indeed a liberal hippie.
Aghast, I asked why she was such a staunch conservative now. She replied, Made a little money.
An epiphany exploded in my mind this is it! This is what separates us a little money is all it takes to abandon ones ideals and principles.
The me generation was a misnomer. It is in reality the Me Party. Republicans worship at the altar of greed and avarice. The haves and have mores American elite not intellectually (for sure) but with wealth. When CEOs make 300-400 times more than their average worker, something is wrong!
A little money and ideals and principles are betrayed and forgotten. Pity!
