LONG BEACH The Red Barn Arena in Long Beach concluded their 13th annual National Barrel Horse Association awards series on May 14. There were five races, beginning in February and ending in May, with an average of 35 contestants participating from Washington and Oregon. 

Awards were given in the Open 1-D, 2-D, 3-D, 4-D and the Buckaroo divisions. The Open divisions are broke down by time ran categories and the buckaroo division is for riders 10 years and younger. Awards given in the Open were belt buckles, embroidered folding chairs, headstalls, clippers, leather CD holders, water containers and bridle hooks. Buckaroo awards were trophies, Breyer horses and keepsake, beaded horseshoes.

Those placing in the Open 1-D: Champion Cheri Bolden, Reserve Bryan McHale, 3rd Diane Carter; 2-D: Champion Arriana Wiegardt, Reserve Josh Fairbank, 3rd McKenzie Dalton, 4th Katie McDonnell; 3-D: Champion Allison Bonney, Reserve Emily McMillian, 3rd Christy Carruthers; 4-D: Champion Marilyn Carnahan, Reserve Maddy Chabot, 3rd Allisa Morgan, 4th Ellie Smith. 

They were nine Buckaroos, 1st Reece Pierson, 2nd Wylie McHale, 3rd Erika Glenn, 4th Dominique Bittner, other buckaroos placing were Brook Morgan, Katie Glasson, Rachael Glasson, Carli Kemmer and Jaymi Kemmer.
