WINLOCK – Guy F. Preston, 61, died July 20, 2010, in Winlock. He was born June 27, 1949, to Frank and Erna Preston.
Mr. Preston was raised in Forks and Ocean Park. He became an Eagle Scout and an accomplished outdoorsman. After graduating from high school he salmon fished out of Ilwaco, planted trees for Nygaard Logging and most recently did construction work for Mountain West.
He thoroughly enjoyed rafting, particularly on the Rogue River, and had recently been canning a variety of foods, including tuna, fruits and vegetables.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his seven siblings, Sharon Preston of Long Beach, Lois and husband George Sampson of Long Beach, Rose and husband Ron Kary of Ocean Park, Terri Anderson of Winlock, Gloria and husband Paul Miller of Tacoma, Buck and wife Paula Preston of Ocean Park and Mark Preston of Naselle; a stepson, Sam Morse of Anchorage, Alaska; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Judy in 2005, and by his parents.
