ILWACO – The Peninsula Players are holding auditions for “Mame!” at the 2nd Story Playhouse, 108 Spruce St. in Ilwaco, at 7 p.m., on Jan. 5 and Jan. 6.

“Life is a banquet!” says the irrepressible Mame. She’s a fun-loving, wealthy and eccentric woman with a true flare for life. When she suddenly becomes the guardian of her young nephew, her life is dramatically changed. The show is set in the glitz and glamour of the 1920s, and Mame has a wildly adventurous spirit to match the times, living life to the fullest.

There are six women and four men singing parts, and four women and four men speaking only parts. Also needed is one young boy who can sing, and more than 10 chorus and small speaking parts. Everyone will be asked to sing part of a song, do a few simple dance moves, and read a small section of the play.
