ILWACO – Ashley Tapio poured in a career-high 22 points, Kenzi Wirkkala added 17 and Aimee Banuet scored 12 to pace the Lady Fishermen past Knappa 65-52 in a non-league game at Ilwaco Thursday. Elleigh Kaino dished out six assists and Banuet five for Ilwaco and Wirkkala had a double-double with 11 rebounds.

The game was marred by 30 fouls for the Lady Loggers and 23 for Ilwaco and the two teams combined for 71 trips to the charity stripe in the marathon. The Lady Fishermen were 20-45 and Knappa connected on 11-26 from the line and Ilwaco had 22 field goals to the Lady Loggers’ 20. Ilwaco is now 2-1 and Knappa 1-2 on the young season.
