Letter: Brian Baird doing ‘outstanding job,’ his opponent less so

It’s very annoying to have a candidate state he is finishing a seated congressman’s job when he uses innuendos and downright falsehoods. This seems to be the nature of modern politics and it needs to be stopped in the budding stages.
Inferring that Brian Baird is not listening to his constituents is totally false. He has held five town hall meetings in person during the months of September and October, and in addition he held seven telephone town hall meetings during August that included seven counties in his district. In addition Congressman Baird can be contacted through his local office or his Washington, D.C. office. He has a very competent staff that will make sure your comments will be passed on to the congressman.
Seems to me the congressman is doing an outstanding job of listening to his constituents and working for his district. Do we really want a person in the medical field (a person in a profession partly responsible for the high cost of medical care) representing us when this nation desperately needs an affordable health care system available to all?
Our votes go to Baird.
