Sylvia Herrold is Pacific League MVP for second year in a row

SOUTH BEND – For the second year in succession, the Naselle Comets’ Sylvia Herrold was chosen as the Most Valuable Player of the Pacific League’s all-league volleyball team.
A senior, Herrold led the young Comets team to a fourth place league finish and a spot in the district tournament. Herrold was the only Naselle player selected on the 11-member team.
The first team members, and their grade level, on the 2007 all-league team included: Naselle – Sylvia Herrold, 12; South Bend – Theresa Mott, 11; Deborah Nhotsoubanh, 11; Ronie Hardy, 12; Raymond – Mckenzy Miller, 11; Hannah Rhodes, 10; Marci Connally, 12; Becca Hines, 1; Willapa Valley – Lindsey Crose, 12; Alex Millican, 12; and North Beach – Tashia DeLaCruz, 12.
In addition, 11 players were selected for honorable mention status on the team.
Naselle had six volleyball players named to the all academic team for players with a GPA of 3.7 or higher. They were (with their GPA and grade placement): Sylvia Herrold, 3.833, 12th; Risa Fletcher, 3.85, 11th: Rebecca Rostad, 3.995, 11th; Shelby Leeland, 3.914, 11th; Nicole Lane, 3.786, 10th; Orianne Condon, 3.713, 10th; and Emily Green, 3.856, 10th.
