SEAVIEW – Seaview resident Connie L. Santee, 56, died peacefully Oct. 7, 2007, at her home. She was born to Robert and Helen (Jeannie) Conner on Dec. 18, 1951, in Longview. She shared many childhood adventures with her three brothers, Randy, Rick and Larry. As a child growing up in northern California, she attended Catholic school and enjoyed riding her family’s horses. In 1967, her family moved to the Peninsula where she attended Ilwaco High School until her graduation.
Throughout her life, she plied her trade for tending bar in various establishments on the Peninsula. She developed many enduring friendships and was loved by those who met her. She was known for being the life of the party and her friends enjoyed her fun-loving approach to life. Some friends, as close as family, stayed by her side through her long battle with cancer.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, Brook and Allyssa Morgan of Long Beach, and also enjoyed shopping and adding to her extensive assortment of elephant collectables. Her fondest memories were of vacationing on Lake Shasta, Calif., in houseboats and she absolutely loved the redwood forest there.
Survivors include her brothers, Rick, Randy and Larry Conner of Sonora, Calif.; her daughter, Kara and Greg Morgan, their children Brooke and Allyssa of Long Beach; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service followed by reception is scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday Oct. 28, at Long Beach Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jarrett Johnson officiating. There will also be a “grief buffet” and a celebration of her life at Rod’s Lamplighter Restaurant shortly thereafter. Please sign the online guest book or share a memory at www.penttilaschapel.com.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Fwy., Ste. 250 Dallas, TX 75244 or South Pacific County Humane Society, P.O. Box 101 Long Beach, WA 98631.
