Letter: Volunteers needed at the Ilwaco Heritage Museum
Published 5:00 pm Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Busy people are always the ones who find something else to do. If you are one of those busy people or one who has time on their hands, the Ilwaco Heritage Museum could use your help.
The time commitment is as varied as the jobs that need to be done. If you like to meet new people and can put on a smile, you could work the front desk and greet our visitors. If you prefer quiet solitude you could help clean, catalog and house artifacts for our collection or work in the research library. If you like to put your creativity and/or construction skills to work, you could help with exhibits or day-to-day fixit chores. If you like the excitement of special events, which occur three to six times a year, help is always needed in the kitchen, setting up and taking down or selling admissions. If you have leadership and organizational skills, there are always special projects to manage.
The 25th Anniversary of the Ilwaco Heritage Museum occurs in 2008. This would be a perfect opportunity to work on a unique project to celebrate the museum’s history.
Whatever your skills and interests are, a job can be found for you. You can pick the job and the time commitment you can make. We have a small, but mighty core of volunteers that will make you feel most welcome. The success of the Ilwaco Heritage Museum is dependent on volunteers to help it grow and prosper. Please call 642-3446 for further information.
