Columbia-Pacific business group receives $60,000 grant

MONTESANO – Columbia-Pacific Resource Conservation and Economic Development District has been awarded a $60,000 Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) Investment Grant.
The Economic Development Administration’s mission is to lead the federal economic agenda by promoting innovation and competitiveness, preparing for American regional for growth and success in the worldwide economy. The EDA accomplishes its mission by making strategic investments in economically distressed communities that encourage private sector collaboration and the creation of higher-skill, higher wage jobs.
This fits with the mission of the Columbia-Pacific Resource Conservation and Economic Development District “to promote and engage regional partnerships to preserve and enhance our communities by creating economic opportunity and advocating sustainability and revitalization of the diverse area we serve.”
This EDA grant award will provide the required resources to adequately facilitate the development of regional projects and programs throughout their four-county district, focused on building the capacity of organizations and communities in pursuit of successfully attaining their economic development goals and objectives.
