Obituaries: Thea Meredith Wessels

GRAYS RIVER – Thea M. Wessels, 69, died Jan. 24, 2007, at her home in Grays River.

She was born March 10, 1937, in Winner, S.D. to Clyde Owen and Martha (Caldwell) Meredith. She was the youngest of eight siblings who included: Walt, Karl, Keith, Bob, Anne, Opal and Dick.

Mr. and Mrs. Wessels moved to the Peninsula in 1986, where she was involved in local real estate. They left the Peninsula in 1998, but returned in recent years to make their home in Grays River.

Survivors include husband Henry “Wes” Wessels of Grays River; son Bob Burdick of Medford, Ore.; daughter, Kimberly Burdick Lord and son-in-law Peter Lord, formerly of the Peninsula and now of Red Bluff, Calif.; grandson Adam Olson of Dover AFB; granddaughter Meredith Lord of Red Bluff, Calif.; brother Dick Meredith of Summerfield, Fla. and an extended family that loved her and will miss her great humor and style. Several siblings and her parents preceded her in death.

A private family service will be held.
