TACOMA – Charles “Chuck” Petterson, 89, died on Oct. 23, 2006, in Tacoma. He was born May 12, 1917, in Chicago, Ill.
Mr. Petterson lived and worked on the Peninsula beginning in the 1960s and continuing into the ’80s. He and his wife started a charter business, working here in the summers and within a few years moved to the Peninsula permanently. They ran the Churo charter boat in the 70s and then moved on to commercial fishing with the Amy and Midnight out of Ilwaco. He was heavily involved with the Northwest Trollers Association.
Later the couple operated the Ridge Court Motel in Long Beach. They loved the Peninsula and cherished the time they spent here.
His wife Ruth preceded him in death. He will be deeply missed by those left behind. Survivors include his wife June, children Pam, Pat and Bruce; grandchildren Robb, Brett, Shawn, Theresa, Sharon and many great-grandchildren.
