Letter: Renee Goodin: Very qualified, hard-working and honest

I support Renee Goodin for Pacific County Treasurer.

Jon Kaino’s slick editorial dissecting the Democratic candidate for Pacific County Treasurer is inaccurate and unprofessional.

Renee Goodin is a very qualified, hard-working and honest individual. She has more than 20 years experience in the Pacific County Assessor’s Office including 10 years as an appraiser. She is respected by her co-workers and has earned the right to be our treasurer.

The back-taxes issue is way overblown and shouldn’t cast any shadow on her capabilities and character. Renee Goodin had to make a tough decision and choose family. Now she is paying twice; penalty interest and public castigation from the righteous supporters of her opponent. She’ll clear this up and get on with her life, hopefully as Pacific County Treasurer.

Also, our district one commissioner’s ideal choice is a blatant example of cronyism. This type of politics shouldn’t be condoned in Pacific County. Vote for Renee Goodin if you want a blue-collar, independent public employee who has already proven that she can do the job.
