Letter: It’s time for change in the PUD; elect Diana Thompson

Do you know the names of the Public Utility District No. 2 Commissioners, in Pacific County? Do you know the name of the Public Utility District Commissioner who represents your area? Have you ever been to a Public Utility District meeting? Do you know when they meet?
We believe it is time for change. We support Diana Thompson for Commissioner, Public Utilities District No. 2 in Pacific County.
Diana feels strongly that affordable power is important for both residential and business customers, that the Public Utility District must prepare for and respond effectively to new growth in the county, that renewable energy sources are an important part of any Public Utility District’s plan, and that conservation needs to be encouraged and rewarded. New customers of the Public Utility District should know what the costs of a new service would be prior to installation and that construction should be performed in a timely manner.
If elected, Diana will work to meet or exceed the Public Utility District’s stated goal of providing “friendly, responsive, caring, reliable and professional service at the lowest possible cost to” its customer-owners. And that means you!
Please join us and cast your vote for Diana Thompson for the position of Commissioner, Public Utilities District No. 2.

Political lessons
I am writing about the kids riding the school bus and one response saying it’s telling kids its OK to tell a little white lie. I think they are just teaching them the way our politicians do things. Look at what they have done to the people in Seaview – held all these meetings so they could give their view but in reality the politicians were going ahead as planned. So no, I don’t look at it as the kids lying – they are just getting a head start in politics.
