Halloween haunts and hootananees this week around area

Treats & funKLIPSAN – Halloween trick or treaters are welcome at Golden Sands Assisted Living from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The entrance fee is a canned food donation. There will be lots of ghoulish fun happening, and kids can get their picture taken with a huge ghost and scarecrow for $1. Call 665-0190 for more information.
Ghost stories/legendsNASELLE – Naselle Timberland Library presents Ghost Stories and Urban Legends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Oct. 31 for school-age children. Join Mike Wessells for spooky stories and terrible tales of things that go bump in the night. Then, take a turn to tell your own tale. Come by for some treats – no tricks! Try the ghoulish snacks of the Grisly Gourmet. Sponsored by the Friends of the Naselle Timberland Library.
Trick or TreatOCEAN PARK – Ocean Park Timberland Library presents Trick or Treat at the Library from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Oct. 31 for school age children and families. Stop by the Ocean Park Library for a free book treat while out for your evening stroll. Sponsored by the Friends of the Ilwaco and Ocean Park Timberland Libraries.
Harvest carnivalSEAVIEW – On Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the Peninsula Church Center located at 5000 “N” Place is hosting a family harvest carnival for families with children through the third grade. Dress up and come to a fun evening that includes games, prizes, barbecue hot dogs, chips, Jell-O, potato salad and beverages. Call 642-3115 for more information.
Costume partyLONG BEACH – Ocean View Convalescent Center will hold their annual Halloween costume party from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for all ages, with cash prizes awarded.
