ILWACO – Shirley (Lesowske) Lentz, 78, of Ocean Park, died Oct. 6, 2006, in Ilwaco. She was born Aug. 5, 1928, to Frank and Eva (Sills) Wienes. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Portland and also attended nursing school there.

She was the mother of seven children. She was heavily involved in both Boys and Girls Scouts in leadership positions, two of her sons having achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Actively involved with her family, it was not unusual for her to load up the children and head out to camp at Fort Stevens or go salmon fishing out of Ilwaco. After the children left home, she worked at Jantzen Sportswear in Portland.

On April 13, 1986, she married Floyd Lentz on Reno, Nev. They moved to the Peninsula in 1990, where she and her husband enjoyed landscaping. Her husband proceeded her in death last year.

She is survived by sons, Edward A., Charles, Mark, Mathew and Frank Lesowske; daughter Ann Marie Downs; and grandchildren Brandon, Jamie, Andie, Laura Ann, Frankie and E.J. Lesowske. She was preceded in death by daughter Cecelia I. Lesowske.
