NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Pacific County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the 23rd day of October, 2006 at the hour of 10:30am, or as soon thereafter as possible in the Commissioner’s meeting room, Pacific County Annex, 1216 W. Robert Bush Drive, South Bend, Washington.
The purpose of the hearing is to review community development and housing needs, inform citizens of the availability of funds and eligible uses of the state Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and receive comments on proposed activities, particularly from low- and moderate-income persons and persons residing in Pacific County. The Board of Commissioners will conduct the public hearing to solicit formal proposals for CDBG General Purpose funding and allow citizen participation in the prioritization of community needs and the development of an application. The Board will receive comment on applications, ensure broad-based support for the projects, listen and receive public input on the formal requests and advise the public of the County’s CDBG grievance procedure. Any person may appear at the hearing and offer comments and/or seek access to these funds.
Up to $1,000,000 may be available to Pacific County on a statewide competitive basis to fund public facility, housing, economic development, or community facility projects that principally benefit low- and moderate-income persons.
The County has received a request to sponsor a General Purpose Block Grant to develop an Early Childhood Learning Facility in cooperation with the Ocean Beach School District No. 101.
