Obituaries: Ruby Alvar

LONG BEACH – Ruby Alvar died July 12, 2006, at the age of 92. The daughter of Albert and Ida (Timmons) Biledeau, she was born in Seattle on Jan. 24, 1914. She attended school in Seattle and graduated from Lincoln High School.

On May 1, 1971, she married Nick R. Alvar. He died earlier. For the past six years she lived in Long Beach where she had moved to be near her family.

She is survived by her son, Gerald Andrews formerly of Oysterville but now residing in Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren Charla Andrews of Charlotte, N.C., Gordon Andrews of Ocean Park, and Cheri Henderson of Ocean Park; her sister Carol Hawkins; nieces, Lois Menlhaff of Tacoma, Charlotte Jacobs of Arizona, Vernadeen Kairis of Seattle, and Krystal Andrews of Charlotte, N.C.; nephews, Ray Biledeau, Gordon Biledeau and Wayne Kairis all of Seattle, and Raymond Hymas and Waldon Andrews of Ocean Park.

No public service is scheduled. Cremation arrangements by Penttila’s Chapel by The Sea and Pacific Crematory of Long Beach.
