PENINSULA – An Astoria man was arrested for felony eluding Jan. 20 after a Pacific County Sheriff’s Office Deputy saw a vehicle speeding northbound on Highway 101 at Milepost 40 south of South Bend. The deputy, assisted by a Washington State Patrol trooper, attempted to stop the vehicle, clocked at 84 mph, but the driver continued on the highway, turning off onto a logging road. The officers arrested Kevin McBride, 22, and he was booked at Pacific County Jail.

On Jan. 23 at 7:24, deputies responded to a report of a domestic-violence dispute in the 1500 block of 323rd in Ocean Park. After an investigation, Clifford Persinger, 48, of Ocean Park, was arrested and booked for fourth-degree domestic-violence assault.
