Weekly Health tip: Don’t be in denial about child sexual abuse
Published 4:00 pm Tuesday, November 15, 2005
Child sexual abuse is more common than most people realize. About one out of every four girls and one out of every six boys are sexually abused as children or teenagers. Abuse can happen to children of any age; about one-fourth of victims are age eight or younger. If a child hints at or tells you about sexual abuse, believe them and take steps to protect them from further abuse.
